This 3 month program is designed for students who want to create positive social change in education and create a positive impact with students across New York City and the Philippines.

Program Outcomes:

​

1. Accumulate Community Service Hours for ‘The Seal of Recognition’

​

The NYC Department of Education offers a locally approved diploma seal of recognition for youth service. The Seal of Recognition for Service, or Service Seal, recognizes high school students who accumulate a minimum of 100 hours of service over their high school years. Service hours may include community service completed independently or as part of service-learning and/or a school-led service program. 

A recommendation/reference letter will also be provided for you as well as a ‘Certificate of Participation’.

2. Commitment and Expectations

​

Must be willing to commit a minimum of 2 hours a week and be willing to make a 3-month commitment.

Required Knowledge and Skills: 

You commit to bringing and/or growing in the following skills:

• A passion for philanthropic work (preferably in Education) and commitment to the nonprofit sector

• Exemplary communication abilities

• Strong interpersonal and team skills to work with other team members Excellent research and data management skills 

• A desire to drive change and create education and social impact across New York City and internationally

• Excellent organizational abilities and strong attention to detail

• Self-starter who uses initiative 

• Ability to effectively complete tasks and meet deadlines
